Fail Mail Friday for 18 March 2011

Welcome to the our next installment of Fail Mail Friday. This is where we showcase a kill mail that we pirates would call a “failure”.

This one comes to us from Larepyns. Here is the link to the kill mail and below is a copy of the fitting that you can use with EFT.

Well, let’s first talk about what’s good on here. The weapons are a good for a Raven, Tech 2 is a very good choce. From the salvage and tractor beam modules we see here, it’s obvious that this is a mission running ship.

When we look at the mid and low slots, that’s where things go all wrong. Dual propulsion can work for some ships, but not really for a mission running ship. Dual tank? No, simply don’t do it. These mid slots are needed for the tank and having those slots wasted by a second propulsion module as well as the hacking and mods is not helping much. The armor tank in the lows on a ship with shield tanking partially fitted is also not a good idea.

It’s a hard thing to try to fill all the roles you will need when running missions. As the old saying goes, “A Jack of all trades, master of none” applies here.

So, congratulations to Larepyns for our Fail Mail Friday submission. As being the selected for this week’s fail mail, Larepyns will receive a whopping 609, 000 isk for the Damage Control II module that was fitted on this mail.

Have a fail mail that you would like to submit? You can send me an in game email to Ga’len with Fail Mail in the subject line. You can also contact me on Twitter @Galen_Druid or send me an old fashioned email to Galen@eve-druid.com and again, use Fail Mail in the subject line.

Until next time, have fun and see you out there!
